Goals of our Religious Education
Program

|
Our goals are twofold:
- To lead children and their families to
a deeper relationship with the person of Jesus.
- To connect home and parish empowering parents
as the primary religious educators of their children. We will
accomplish this in the following ways:

Promoting Knowledge of Faith

- Through small group instruction and home
assignments;

- Imparting doctrines of our faith development
and deeper understanding of what we believe as Catholics through
studying the creed.
- Integrating the Church Seasons into our
catechetical sessions.
|
Liturgical Education
|
- Learning the meaning of the sacraments in
our lives and the life of the church.
- Recognizing Jesus' presence in the sacraments
- Inviting and encouraging families to our
Sunday celebration of the Eucharist.
|
|
Moral Formation
|
- Learning the beatitudes and the role they
have in our everyday lives.
- Learning the commandments and applying them
to our lives as Christians
- Forming a healthy and sound conscience and
living a life consistent with a good conscience
- Assessing and naming Christian values which
must be an integral part of JesusŐ disciples
- Creating an awareness of social justice
and challenging each other to live less materialistic lifestyles
- Learning the meaning of good moral judgment.
- Respecting all people and the rights of
all people.
|
|
Learning to Pray
|
- .Creating a prayerful atmosphere in our
small faith groups and in the home

through life

Thanksgiving, Adoration, Meditation, Petition, Reconciliation

Saints
|
| Our youth need sound and wholesome faith models
and none could be more appropriate than our saints. Our children
will learn both at home and in our small faith groups about the
lives of our saints and connect with their own inner sanctity and
incorporate this into their actions toward others. |
